Send Slack Message on Wishlist Creation
Use this Shopify Flow template to send a Slack notification automatically whenever a shopper creates a new wishlist in Wysh. By default, the message is sent immediately to your specified channel, providing your team with instant visibility into customer engagement milestones.
You can keep our default message format or completely customize the text and layout to include the specific customer metrics your team tracks.
Before you start
Wysh must be installed and active on your Shopify store.
Shopify Flow must be available on your store so you can import and edit the workflow.
Slack must be integrated with your Shopify store, and you must have a specific channel ready (e.g.,
#sales-alertsor#customer-activity) where Shopify Flow can post messages.
The template sends a formatted message to Slack for new wishlist activity. Once configured, it helps your team track real-time adoption and storefront trends directly inside your workspace.
Install the workflow
Download the template, extract the file, and then import it into Shopify Flow.
Download the ZIP folder using the link above, then extract (unzip) it on your computer to get the .flow file.
In your Shopify admin, open Shopify Flow.
Choose the option to import a workflow, then upload the extracted .flow file.
After import, confirm that the workflow includes the wishlist creation trigger and the Slack message action.
Customize the workflow
After importing the template, review and update the workflow settings before turning it on.
Select your Slack channel: Open the Slack step in the workflow and choose the exact channel where you want this notification to post.
Customize the message text: Review our default message copy. You can edit this text block directly in Shopify Flow to match your team's tone or to add template variables (like the customer's name or wishlist title).
Add optional conditions: If you only want to see alerts for specific groups (like VIP customers or specific tags), you can add an optional condition step right before the Slack action.
Slack allows markdown syntax in its message blocks. You can use asterisks (*text*) to make headings bold, or underscores (_text_) to italicize information inside your customized message layout.
Turn it on
After selecting your channel and adjusting your message text, save the workflow in Shopify Flow.
Turn the workflow on so it can start listening for new wishlist creation activity from Wysh.
Create a new wishlist on your storefront as a test shopper, then confirm the message posts to your selected Slack channel immediately.
If a valid Slack channel is not specified or the workflow is left turned off, no alerts will be sent to your workspace.
What this workflow does
Once enabled, the workflow watches for shoppers who create a brand new wishlist in Wysh. It instantly formats a notification containing the activity details and pushes it directly into your designated Slack channel. This keeps your internal team perfectly aligned on active storefront engagement without needing to check your app dashboard.
