Send Slack Message on Wishlist Item Purchased
Use this Shopify Flow template to send a Slack notification automatically whenever a shopper purchases an item that was saved on their wishlist in Wysh. By default, the message is sent immediately to your specified channel, giving your marketing and sales teams instant, rewarding visibility into wishlist conversion success.
You can keep our default message format or completely customize the text to celebrate wins or pull in specific order data.
Before you start
Wysh must be installed and active on your Shopify store.
Shopify Flow must be available on your store so you can import and edit the workflow.
Slack must be integrated with your Shopify store, and you must have a specific channel ready (e.g.,
#sales-wins,#wishlist-conversions, or#customer-activity) where Shopify Flow can post messages.
The template sends a formatted notification to Slack when an order includes an item from a shopper's wishlist. Once configured, it helps your team track direct conversion revenue driven by your wishlist strategy.
Install the workflow
Download the template, extract the file, and then import it into Shopify Flow.
Download the ZIP folder using the link above, then extract (unzip) it on your computer to get the .flow file.
In your Shopify admin, open Shopify Flow.
Choose the option to import a workflow, then upload the extracted .flow file.
After import, confirm that the workflow includes the order/purchase trigger, the wishlist verification check, and the Slack message action.
Customize the workflow
After importing the template, review and update the workflow settings before turning it on.
Select your Slack channel: Open the Slack step in the workflow and choose the exact channel where you want these conversion alerts to post.
Customize the message text: Review our default message copy. You can edit this text block directly in Shopify Flow to include template variables, such as the customer's name, the purchased item title, the variant, or the total order value.
Add milestone filters: If you want to limit noise, you can add an optional condition step to only post a Slack message if the total order value exceeds a specific dollar amount.
Try including emojis like :tada: or :moneybag: inside your custom Slack message layout to make conversion milestones stand out visually and boost team morale in your channels!
Turn it on
After choosing your channel and tailoring the victory message text, save the workflow in Shopify Flow.
Turn the workflow on so it can start listening for successful wishlist conversion checkouts.
Place a test order on your storefront using an account that has that product saved to their wishlist, then confirm the message posts to your selected Slack channel immediately.
If a valid Slack channel is not specified or the workflow is left turned off, no conversion alerts will be pushed to your workspace.
What this workflow does
Once enabled, the workflow watches for completed checkout orders across your storefront. When an order matches a product saved in that customer's Wysh data, it immediately wraps up the conversion data—including shopper info and product context—into a sleek notification block and pushes it to Slack. This keeps your team in loop on high-value, wishlist-driven wins instantly.
