Send Slack Message on Wishlist Item Added
Use this Shopify Flow template to send a Slack notification automatically whenever a shopper adds a new item to their wishlist in Wysh. By default, the message is sent immediately to your specified channel, providing your product, marketing, and inventory teams with real-time insight into which products are capturing customer interest.
You can use our default message layout or completely customize the text to pull in specific product details.
Before you start
Wysh must be installed and active on your Shopify store.
Shopify Flow must be available on your store so you can import and edit the workflow.
Slack must be integrated with your Shopify store, and you must have a specific channel ready (e.g.,
#wishlist-activityor#marketing-alerts) where Shopify Flow can post messages.
The template sends a notification to Slack for wishlist item additions. Once configured, it gives your team an instant pulse on rising trends and customer intent directly inside your daily workspace.
Install the workflow
Download the template, extract the file, and then import it into Shopify Flow.
Download the ZIP folder using the link above, then extract (unzip) it on your computer to get the .flow file.
In your Shopify admin, open Shopify Flow.
Choose the option to import a workflow, then upload the extracted .flow file.
After import, confirm that the workflow includes the item addition trigger and the Slack message action.
Customize the workflow
After importing the template, review and update the workflow settings before turning it on.
Select your Slack channel: Open the Slack step in the workflow and choose the exact channel where you want these addition alerts to post.
Customize the message text: Review our default message copy. You can change this text block in Shopify Flow to include template variables, such as the shopper's name, the product title, or the variant name.
Add conditional steps: If your channel is getting too noisy, you can add an optional condition step to only send a message for specific high-value collections or when specific tags are attached to the product.
Try customizing the message text to include a direct link to the product variant page in your Shopify admin. This allows your inventory team to instantly check current stock levels whenever an item starts trending on wishlists.
Turn it on
After choosing your channel and tailoring the notification text, save the workflow in Shopify Flow.
Turn the workflow on so it can start listening for wishlist addition activity from Wysh.
Add an item to a wishlist on your storefront as a test shopper, then confirm the message posts to your chosen Slack channel immediately.
If a valid Slack channel is not specified or the workflow is left disabled, no addition alerts will be pushed to your workspace.
What this workflow does
Once enabled, the workflow watches for shoppers who add items to their wishlist in Wysh. It immediately packages the activity details—including shopper contact info and specific product details—into a clear notification and pushes it into your designated Slack channel. This keeps your internal teams instantly aligned on customer behavior without requiring them to pull manual reports.
