Send Wishlist Item Back in Stock Event to Klaviyo
Use this Shopify Flow template to automatically notify shoppers when an item on their wishlist comes back in stock. When a product's inventory increases from zero, the workflow automatically checks for any shoppers who have added that specific product to their Wysh wishlist, and instantly sends a Klaviyo event to each of them.
This creates a highly relevant, automated touchpoint that instantly alerts high-intent buyers the moment their favorite items are available for purchase again.
Before you start
Wysh must be installed and active on your Shopify store.
Shopify Flow must be available on your store so you can import and edit the workflow.
Klaviyo must be set up, and you will need your Klaviyo Public API Key to finish the workflow configuration.
Inventory tracking must be enabled for your products within Shopify so Shopify Flow can accurately read stock increases.
The template connects your restocked inventory directly with customer wishlists. Once the back-in-stock event is being sent successfully, you can use it in Klaviyo to trigger automated "Back in Stock Wishlist Alert" emails.
Install the workflow
Download the template, extract the file, and then import it into Shopify Flow.
Download the ZIP folder using the link above, then extract (unzip) it on your computer to get the .flow file.
In your Shopify admin, open Shopify Flow.
Choose the option to import a workflow, then upload the extracted .flow file.
After import, confirm that the workflow includes the inventory quantity trigger, the Wysh wishlist loop check, and the Klaviyo action step.
Customize the workflow
After importing the template, review and update the workflow settings before turning it on.
Add your Klaviyo Public API Key: Replace the placeholder value in the Klaviyo step with the Public API Key from your Klaviyo account.
Confirm the event name: The default event name sent to Klaviyo is
Wishlist item back in stock. Keep it as-is or rename it if you want to organize events differently in Klaviyo.Review the event details: Make sure the event includes the shopper and product information you want available in Klaviyo so your restock email can display the correct product image, title, and price.
Verify stock rules: Ensure the workflow triggers only when inventory goes from 0 to greater than 0, preventing accidental alerts during normal inventory counting adjustments.
When designing your back-in-stock email template in Klaviyo, include a clear "Buy Now" button linking directly back to the product page to make purchasing as frictionless as possible.
Turn it on
After pasting your Klaviyo API key and verifying your workflow conditions, save the workflow in Shopify Flow.
Turn the workflow on so it can start monitoring your store for product restocks and matching them to customer wishlists.
Find a product currently saved to a test customer's wishlist, set its inventory to 0, then increase it back to 1 or more in your Shopify admin. Confirm the workflow loops through the customers and fires the event to Klaviyo.
If the workflow is not turned on, back-in-stock events will pass unmonitored, and your shoppers will not receive automatic updates when items return to stock.
What this workflow does
Once enabled, the workflow watches for an inventory quantity change where a product variant goes from out-of-stock back into stock. When this restock occurs, the flow scans active Wysh data to identify every customer who has that exact product saved to a wishlist. It then loops through those customers, sending an individual Wishlist item back in stock event to Klaviyo for each one—giving you the precise trigger needed to capture high-intent recovery revenue.
